I am interested in applying to the nurse corps scholarship 2017 2018 in order to pay for my accelerated program of sixteen months. I have a bachelors in sociology. I have done quiet a few researches. The application cycle will be open this month but I don't know which exact date. I have read discussion threads of previous years and have found really helpful information. I want to create a platform where interested applicants can ask questions, share information, discuss and help each other.
I got an expiring password notification this morning and almost had a heart attack. My eyes were barely open and all I saw was "[email protected]" Good one guys. Lol.
Based on last year, The first rounds of emails went out on July 26 and July 29. After the July 26 round of emails went out someone called and they said only 1/3 of recipients got emailed. Groups of people in 2016 got emailed again 8/9, 8/12 and then more people reported getting an email scattered all the way until mid september.
If people dont respond in time or dont sign the contract then more emails will go out. So there will be more rounds.
Also, It seemed like there was a pattern of the application portal being shut down the night before emails went out
I know it sucks to wait, but there is STILL SO MUCH HOPE. Stay positive, we got this. Praying for all of us
Looking for some advice from anyone that has been in my situation. I applied for both the NHSC and Nurse Corps loan repayment programs. I am a finalist for the NHSC loan repayment program and my Nurse Corps application is still under review. I have not received a credit check at this point. I have approximately $250,000 in student loan debt so I wanted the Nurse Corps program more than the NHSC. I have until tomorrow at the end of the day to accept the NHSC offer, and it automatically removes me from the Nurse Corps application process. Based on conversations with people that have received the Nurse Corps repayment I have heard the taxes kills you. I plan on accepting the finalist offer for NHSC at the last minute that I can tomorrow. I would rather have something than nothing if I am not selected for Nurse Corps. My HPSA is 17 and my debt to income ratio is 294%. Has anyone received either of these awards, or have any advice? It is appreciated. Thank you.

She states that the Nurse Corp program is taxable and would have increased her tax bracket too much. If you decline there is no way of knowing if you will be offered the Nurse Corp program. That's the tough part. I was actually just looking for posts regarding not receiving a credit check but receiving a finalist offer. I wonder if the credit check is done while you are a finalist or after you accept.

Any guesses as to how frequently waves occur? or how many waves there will be prior to September 30th?
Credit check but No email...yet. #Faith
