2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Published

Hi Everyone,

I didn't see a thread created for the 2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program yet. This will be my 3rd year applying. I'm applying as a staff RN with a HPSA score of 17. Hopefully, they open the application cycle soon.

I am a nurse faculty. Received Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program. I work in a disadvantaged background facility and am Tier I based on a DTI ratio of 200%. Third year applying.

For those of you who posted they received the award recently, could you share program and info (DTI, score)? I'm more and more defeated everyday when I see I haven't received anything ? Thanks, and congrats to all of you!!!!

I’m a staff RN, just received the NCLRP. My DTI is roughly 200%, I don’t know my hospital’s score but I know it puts me in tier 1. This is my first year applying. From what I’ve read they do everything in waves, so don’t give up yet! They still send out awards until the end of September, and people who have gotten their finalist email in September have gotten awarded in the past.

Congrats to everyone who got this award!! Such a blessing. I was wondering - how much do they take out in taxes? And will we have to pay back a large sum around tax time because our monthly repayments will be counted as income?

I am nurse faculty. I teach at an institution with greater than 50% of students being from a disadvantaged background and my DTI is 200% (Tier 1). I received the COI email on July 24th and my welcome packet today. First year applying. I'm really hoping you all get awarded!!

Has anyone consolidated their loans after accepting the award? I honestly did not think I had a chance at receiving an award so I consolidated my loans after I submitted my application in order to get a payment I could afford. I just received my award letter and now I am unsure of where to go from here.

I haven’t heard of that situation yet. If all of the loans were for nursing only and all were approved I think may be ok, but I would definitely call HRSA and ask specifics. The last thing I would want it to risk a breach of contract once they co-sign it.

how long has it been taking everyone for a second signature? just anxious.. ya know.

It took 6WEEKS!!!!! Then I waited 2weeks for my welcome packet! But they truly move at whatever speed they want! Lol

Hi All,

I have been stalking this feed and decided its time to contribute. LOL. I am an FNP at an FQHC working 34 hours a week and applied to the SUD program. It’s my third time applying. I was notified I was a finalist on 8/6, I signed the COI on 8/7 and got a co sign today 8/22. I am beyond excited. I hope the rest of you hear soon too!

Hey all, just logged and and saw this:

I actually could not access anything when I clicked on NCLRP link after logging in.

Congrats to all of you being awarded. Nursing faculty - 3rd year applying, and looking like 3rd year getting rejected.
