2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi Everyone,

I didn't see a thread created for the 2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program yet. This will be my 3rd year applying. I'm applying as a staff RN with a HPSA score of 17. Hopefully, they open the application cycle soon.

Well guys I’m in the same boat. I work in an underserved area. My debt is insane I’m still holding on to hope.

I just received a 'Confirmation of interest in an FY 2019 Award' email for the NHSC Rural Community Loan Repayment Program. I just started sobbing immediately; this is a game changer for my quality of life and mental health. Hoping to see more posts like this in the coming days ??

Has anyone received a counter signature yet? I wonder when those will come? I’m so anxious and obsessively checking my email daily!

When did people start getting counter signatures last year?

This whole process is going to kill me. So I posted Sunday night, submitted my Confirmation of Interest, became a 'Finalist - pending final review' or something like that. Went celebratory camping off grid for a day; come home to a voicemail from someone at HRSA re: this program requesting a call back. Didn't get message till late because of time difference, happen to log onto my application and see that it's back to 'Under Review.'

I was at first selected for NHSC, accepted award, then they put me back into 'Under Review' when I applied for the Rural Community LRP. Then was supposedly selected for NHSCRC now that's back to 'Under Review.'

At this point, it's just starting to feel like an abusive relationship ?

Hi there, this is great you were awarded for your third year, congrats! Did you receive a counter signature yet? I got the finalist email as a NP but no counter signature yet. I had a question for you though, for the 3rd year did they base the 25% on your initial approved amount of student loans or on the amount after the 60% of repayment? Thank you!

Yes, I have. I received it immediately upon receiving the email. On my initial application, it was 3 weeks until I received a counter signature.

The 25% is based on the initial approved loan amount.
