Hi, I will be graduating this upcoming April. I am interested in knowing how thus program works? Does the government pay a lump sum or payments? Do I have to pay the interest or is that covered by the program ? Does the hospital or clinic take money out of your pay check or is it separate from the program? Etc.... any information would be greatly helpful.

I have read through the online information but it would he great to hear first hand.

Thank you!

I am not under loan repayment. However I do know with nurse corp it's a monthly payment and you have to pay taxes. Your salary doesn't have anything to do with loan repayment programs.

For the nurse corps loan repayment, it does depend on your salary but they don't add or take anything to your salary You get the award based on debt to income ratio. If you receive it, you will receive a monthly amount that will come to your checking account, then it is your responsibility to pay your loans. It is taxed but they automatically take taxes out and you get a w-2 at end of year

My application still says ineligible and I have checked EVERYTHING! can anyone tell me common reasons - other than the employment POC doing it wrong - which it looks all right to me

Is your site still eligible. There are many facilities that have become ineligible as of this year. Our site has been eligible for many years and this year it is not for new applicants.

I wanted to apply this year for my first time, but I found out that the place I work for doesn't qualify since it is a for profit nursing home. I need to find a place that qualifies. Can someone offer any suggestions on finding a qualified place for an RN and I'll start looking? Thanks.

Perhaps someone on here can help me with some questions I have about Nurse Corps/HRSA! I am graduating from my MSN a year from now and am trying to make sure I choose a location that will be eligible for these programs. Despite there being plenty of low-income patient populations here (Milwaukee, WI) when I search for sites it only lists 5 or 6 clinics. Does this mean that those are the only locations that qualify in my area? Also, I read somewhere that Nurse Corps recipients have to work at an outpatient facility, but now I can't find that on their website. I was hoping to work in labor and delivery when I graduate, as I eventually want to become a midwife, but this is not considered outpatient, of course. Are any of you recipients working on an inpatient unit? Thanks for the help!

When I started at my job, my facility was not listed, I contacted the BHW and they were able to access the VA I work for and give it a MH score. I believe on the website i contacted them and they analyzed the patient population and area to create a score.

HRSA Data Warehouse - Tools

I do not remember who but it should be on their website.
