Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

The guidance I saw said Sept. 30th, but I have pretty much lost hope, ugg time to start school i guess, not looking forward to looking for an Post MSN FNP program, and applying and probably getting rejected!!

I have not, I'm surprised. Seems like there should be more, maybe not part of this forum is my best guess. I'm also around 138% with HPSA of 17, still "under review". If I read the guidance app right, we have until Sept 1st to be notified? It seems like previous years were until Sept 30th?

I'm still under final review!!! Have you heard anything yet?

Was anyone coutersigned today?. 3wks out, still not countersigned.

I am also over 3 weeks now :( nervous! signed august 6 so i am just waiting patiently. maybe this next week hopefully!

I am an RN, BSN.. but in school for NP. I applied for Nurse Corps only, of course. My app says "under review" still. I haven't given up. I wonder if they have decided to deny altogether if Under Review will change to a hell no, or anything else? :) I hope they do consider interest. Also, my earlier course work was not toward a nursing degree, though I used some of it for that. I don't know if they pick through it or just process an award for total loan value for undergraduate.

Hi I was wondering, if you don't mind me asking ...did you got a credit check? I also have additional loans not counted towards my nursing degrees and I was under the impression that we could only submit the eligible ones or the entire application would be dismissed, rather than the eligible ones being picked out by nurse corps if they were all submitted via the easy upload option. So I manually entered them and never received a credit check, so I assume that I must have messed something up with my application, probably with the loan details because it was very confusing :( So I was just curious since it seems that you submitted all loans, whether you made it to the credit check mark. Thanks!!

to be honest, i didnt look to see if i had a credit check.. I am 'under review' and i submitted everything because each school i went to had something that applied at some point to my nursing degree, whether it be psychology, algebra, english, electives. I think it seems you are supposed to upload and they will pick what they will pay for... which may be why mine is still under review. I wonder if I am denied if it will say something else. Or, if under review means theres still a chance???

I dont recall if anyone has received notice for solely BSN work?? Nurse Corps?

Thanks for the input. Well hopefully you still have a chance!

I had completely lost hope, but received a finalist email today--so late in the game. RN, BSN tier 1 with a 175% D/I. I'm reading a lot about the award being disbursed in a lump sum, but the manual says it will be monthly installments over 24 months...anyone have any insight? Thank you!

I got my acceptance packet for the NCLRP and it is monthly. They break down the total award and then how much they will take in taxes etc.

Do people in tier 2 get approved? I believe that my loans will not be ore than what i make annually, but I am still very interested in applying for this when I get out of school. The hospital I want to work at has a score of 16, so I am hoping they take that into consideration more.

Was anyone awarded today? I'm still under final review. Will be a monto on Sept 2.

I emailed them, pointless i know, just feel like i have to do some thing!! just wondering if all awards have been sent out for nurses. it looks like in the past most initial awards have gone out by now. They seem to be taking a really long time even to counter sign those who have been awarded. RN 140%ish, HPSA 17,

Still Under Review.
