Hello All,
I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.
"are you and RN, faculty or NP? I am an RN only 140%, i am still under review, i just saw an RN at 175% got notified today. That is about the lowest i think i have seen, i could be wrong but so far not a ton of RN's notified."
I am a CNM and I didn't apply for the Nurse Corps program. I applied to the NHSC LRP and my HPSA is 15. So, our income to debt ratio is not considered for the LRP.
Just wondering how far down the LRP has gone into tier 1.

Debt to income ratio is not considered for NHSC? Just clarifying because both programs are LRP's and it starts to get confusing when people just say LRP instead of saying NHSC or Nurse Corps.

The NHSC doesn't go by income to debt ratio only hpsa scores and if your from a disadvantaged background. Its for Dr, PA, NP, cnm, lmsw, etc.I applied for NHSC too, I knew the nelrp I wouldn't get because my ratio is like is like 61%. I'm a NP and my score is 17 but I haven't heard anything but someone else on here is nhsc and score is 17 and was notified 2 weeks ago. Its so frustrating, I would really appreciate the lump sum of 50k just enough to pay i off. Good luck to everyone

Thanks for explaining that good luck!
I know I am late to this thread, but I have been checking my status on HRSA since July. I applied for the NC loan repayment program on the day it opened. I am currently BSN nursing faculty at a rural university in TN. This is my first application, as I graduated from my MSN program last August. I was notified August 24th that I needed to accept or decline my award.
My questions for the board is: When they calculate your debt to income ratio, do they consider ALL debt, or only your student loans? Has anyone accepted their award and been under final review and NOT received funds?
Just your student loan debt

I have not, I'm surprised. Seems like there should be more, maybe not part of this forum is my best guess. I'm also around 138% with HPSA of 17, still "under review". If I read the guidance app right, we have until Sept 1st to be notified? It seems like previous years were until Sept 30th?
