Hello All,
I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.
Ok, so I broke down and called again. I spoke to a very nice representative that said they have emailed very few reward letters (his exact wording was 1 or 2), but he stressed that the majority of award letters almost always go out in July! He also said that as long as the website says "under review" you are in the running. So finally some clear answers! He also stated that if you haven't heard anything by Sept. 1st, you are basically out of the running. All awardees are notified before Sept. 1st and everyone who doesn't get an award will be notified by Sept. 30th. So now I am going to stop stressing until about late July. Just thought I would share with everyone because I thought that was a very informative phone call.

Thank you for calling this wait is agonizing!
One of the NP's I work with is a current participant in the program who was awarded last year and she told me she was notified late July by email, she also said that if you are awarded make sure you have more state taxes taken out of your salary because they(HRSA) take federal out but not state so you will be responsible for paying the shortage once tax time comes

I believe it is by email, but not 100% as this is my first year applying.
