Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

I know an earlier poster stated they called and were told rewards were being made. But now, I'm beginning to wonder if there was some confusion between this program and the NHSC program....

It was me who they told rewards were being made. I think the person I talked with was confused as well because I know some NPs with very high site scores at FQHCs that have DTIs of 200+ that have heard nothing. This wait is killer.

I was just reading some previous forums and it seems like NHSC normally gets notified first so hopefully this is the case.

I do know someone who was already notified for the NHSC award and she was a former awardee as well, so this may be somewhat accurate.

PhillyFNP,NP you received two credit checks from credco because you applied to both Nurse Corps loan repayment and NHSC. So for those of you who are worried about not getting a 2nd check from credco it's probably because you only applied to Nurse Corps program not both.

Also I just spoke with a representative about the funding preferences and it goes as follows:

50% is for Nurse Practitioners

20% is for Nurse Faculty

30% is for nurses who are not in the above categories i.e. (CRNA,BSN,RN etc.)

She also stated this information is in the program application and guidance. Hopefully this helps with the constant debate about how the money is allocated. Good luck to you all

Hi all, this may have been addressed... but how do they let you know? In writing... phone call... on the website? Sorry if this was already addressed I have not had time to read the entire thread
