Nurse Corp Loan Repayment 2018

Published

Hi there! I figured I'd start a thread for next year's application. I signed up for the 2018 application notification on the HRSA website. Here we go!

This will be my first time submitting for loan repayment. I just graduated in August with my PMHNP, and will be starting my new job in January. I'm so confused at this point, and not sure which program to apply for - or both. blarrrgh.

Hi, I will be graduating this upcoming April. I am interested in knowing how thus program works? Does the government pay a lump sum or payments? Do I have to pay the interest or is that covered by the program ? Does the hospital or clinic take money out of your pay check or is it separate from the program? Etc.... any information would be greatly helpful.

I have read through the online information but it would he great to hear first hand.

Thank you!

Hi There,

I am also applying and signed up for the notification, but trying to understand how this will work for me.

I just graduated and I am taking my NCLEX in January to start work in February.

Does anyone know if they do a pending full licensure clause? I really want to apply as soon as possible. My facility code is 19, and I am sure my D/I is about 170%. I look forward to starting this process with you guys.

From the last boards it looks like most in your situation applied for both.

This will be my second time applying. I had such high hopes last year but this year I guess I'm just doing it for the heck of it. Maybe I will get It this time...

This is my third year applying. Crossing fingers for this year however we will see. Last year my facility score was 18 w/ a D/I ratio of 205%. I still have not noticed a pattern or figured out how they choose nurses to give awards to. It was all over the board last year. It is a monthly amount awarded from what I understand for the LRP (I could be wrong). However there is another scholarship where NP's can receive a lump sum. I'm not exactly sure which program it is. I would apply to both programs if possible. The only thing with doing so is you can only be awarded one of the two, not both. It's a long stressful ride but glad we're all here together.

Sooo, with the government shutdown is NurseCorps still a thing?
