I just want to say, if I see anyone not using spell check around here, with a misspelling that I can identify at a glance, I'll be taking you to task. Your name is mud around these parts.

Nurses with better spelling than mine, on the other hand, are obviously anal retentive perfectionists. Or else they are using spell check, the great equalizer.

Obvious grammatical errors will be pointed out immediately. And, I expect you educated people to know that:

Your is a singular possessive pronoun

You're is a conjunction of you and are

Their is a plural possessive pronoun

They're is a conjunction of they and are

Loose means the opposite of tight

Lose means the opposite of win

I did have to chuckle recently, though, when a poster used "taciturn" instead of "tacit"

Now if OP would just explain lie, lay and lain to me!!! Even Sr. Florita (7th grade) and Sr. Mercita (high school) couldn't help me get it. I readily admit that their use really floors me.

I agree! Although I have to admit my spelling has greatly suffered from auto-correct on the app where I do most of my posting from. And always, it's so obvious once I've hit send. And there's no edit button. :-/

Idk wat ur complaininng abt. I may not spel so gud here on AN or use good grammer, but I hav 2 degrees masters in fact and I rite fine in school so dont jugde me b4 u no me i just get tired of using grammer and speling n stuff online and im also the valleydictator of my class so I no wat im talking abt k?

Please don't get me stirred up into "Grammar Queen" mode. I notice grammar and spelling errors all the time and rarely make the mistake of correcting the poster, lol. :rolleyes:

Recently, I very gently suggested that in the future, a poster might break up what seemed like a 300 word run on post into paragraphs so it would be more readable. The poster flipped out on me. It was in the nurses and recovery forum and the poster even implied that I might cause her to relapse! :wideyed: So I shut up now. :sorry:

Just call me "see no evil Catmom" lol. :roflmao:
