Nurse Bulletin article-4-2005

Published

Hello to all, I have a ? concerning the Nursing Bulletin article April 2005. It says that in order for an LVN to do venipuncture and IV therapy they need a validated course prior to doing this. I called the nursing board and spoke with a member who says this is true. I lost my job because I didn't draw blood one time, due to the tech not being able to. I have the skill but haven't drawn blood but twice in over four years. I haven't had a validated class and the board member said I did the right thing by not drawing blood. Now, how can I get in touch with someone who can give their support about this? The board can't get involved. They suggested "vocational nurses of texas." I've tried the internet search but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions anyone???? Thanks, corollale.
