Hello all! :)
I am looking for some advice from anyone in the Nevada area who knows about the nursing programs. I am currently a student at UNLV but I have never been a pre-nursing major, I was in a major that had nothing to do with health sciences at all. I have only taken 9 classes none of which are requirements for nursing. I realized that I made a huge mistake choosing the major I was in and that my passion lies in helping people and I am very passionate about nursing. I don't have the best GPA to be honest but I have only taken 9 classes and I do not think they reflect how I am as a student what so ever. Basically my main question is what seems like a better option, UNLV or NSC? I like UNLV for the simple fact that I won't have to deal with changing schools, but I know the nursing program is VERY competitive (I know all of them are) but my issue is finding a school where I can be at the top of the competition.
I like what I hear about NSC having smaller classes and this seems like the learning environment that I would enjoy.
Like I said I enjoy UNLV but the environment gets a little distracting to me. I guess you could say I am an older student I am 22, while most of the people in my classes at UNLV have been 18-19. I support myself and I find it hard I will be able to compete with younger individuals who still live at home.
Also, what are the acceptance rates like?
I am really worried about pouring myself into pre-nursing and not getting in!
All comments are appreciated, and I thank you for taking the time to read!

NSC! Much more competitive than UNLV, but totally worth it.
