I am a recent FNP Grad and was offered a position today in home care. I am wondering what you all think of the starting salary. I like about 20 min outside Philly and starting salary is $82000. In 90 days the salary will increase some as patient load will increase to 10-12 patients per day.

I think that's awesome, but then again, I'm a professional volunteer with no income at the moment. I think for CNMs, the average starting salary (according to the internet, at least) is in the 70s. So for an NP I think 82000 sounds great.

I am currently a RN who works in home care & we see about 5-6 pts a day & sometimes that can be crazy. So I'm wondering how are you going to see 10-12 pts a day along with paperwork. I understand both of our roles are different but to me in this specialty that seems like a huge load. So be careful.

Latest 2013 Salary Trends:
Average FNPs are earning in range between $105000 - $120000.
PAs in average are earning less than NPs in year 2013 in between $80000 - $90000. This is the first time NPs are leveling their salaries with primary care physician MDs. Perhaps, it is due to high demand of FNPs in primary care clinics with the current change in healthcare laws.

NP salaries around Philly are low. I think that sounds like an average starting salary for the area.
