I have applied to the Spring Semester in a diploma RN program. I have completed all of my pre-reqs with a 3.7 GPA. The problem is I didn't really learn enough in BIO. I got an A in both parts but I don't think I retained enough of the program!! IS this going to hurt me later on??:uhoh21:

I haven't started my program either, but you could always buy one of those Schaum's Outlines on amazon or ebay. Those things are great for review like that. They're just a bunch of questions and exercises with full answers, and they're very well organized.

By BIO do you mean biology or microbiology? If so, then I don't think this will hurt you because you can do self-study on the side. Being aware of your weaknesses can help you identify where you need to focus on your own. Nursing is a career that requires continuing education to keep on top of the changes in the field so this shouldn't be a problem for you.
Good luck!
and truly it only takes a little bit of time each day if you already know it (maybe 15 minutes).

Jaded,
I think a lot of us feel this way. I am currently taking A&P this summer, and although I am doing well, I feel like I will never be able to retain enough to apply it. Our nursing program told us to review our sciences (micro and A&P) over the summer before nursing classes start in the fall. However, I've heard from students that they also "re-teach" us what we need to know for nursing. I know I should take opinions lightly, but I think that if you keep this in mind and review a little every day (15-20 minutes as suggested by other poster), that the information will sink and you'll get the hang of it! If you got an A in your science classes that means you had to have retained at least a little, right?!!!!!
Thanks everyone! I plan on getting a review guide and studying a little every day. I'm already doing this with A&P...I've enlarged lots of diagrams and posted them on my fridge so I see them every day. And by BIO I mean just regular BIO..my program does not require Micro!
