I know how you feel. I graduated last May after coasting through one of the hardest nursing schools around. I mean we start with 80, graduate 20 after having two chances to pass HESI exit or your out. I know they do this to protect the 100% nclex pass rate they have. Well that was until I came along. I made good grades, excelled in clinical and then on nclex I get 265 questions and fail. I was totally embarassed, and had to quit work where I was working with other classmates that passed. I received my sheet a week later showing all at near passing, so I scheduled to take it 45 days later. Then I failed again...... with 155 questions. his time it showed all below. Well now I'm taking it and not telling anyone when I do, nclex has been a killer to my ego and pretty well embarrasses me anytime I see my wifes (RN) friends or my former classmates. Sorry about carrying on, but I just want you to see your not alone......... Good luck to us both. :)

Hey this sounds like my story...

I give you lots of credit for really wanting it by testing 8X. You're so brave to do this. I'm a 2X failure for the RN-nclex and I'm scared. I'm trying to study for my third time and I have a mental block. I can't get myself to begin. I can't even schedule a test I'm so scared. I graduated in 06, failed in Nov 06, Apr 07 and now it's 08, and I don't have a schedule for #3. Maybe you can help me by telling me how you come about this bravery to test as many as you did? To help you maybe this can help, I'm an LPN and I was told to think like an LPN when taking the PN-nclex, and maybe I have do the same with the RN-nclex, not think like an LPN but an RPN.

Good luck to us :[anb]:

I think you are the stongest person I have ever seen, I failed the nclex-pn too, friday was my second time, i guess ill get my results tommorrow, im praying for a good outcome, that test is hard no one could ever know when you walk away. Keep up the good work.

I passed the RN test and most of my questions were priorization. What I did was: Always the less stable patient first. Remember the ABCs. Always see the patient with low respirations and such. It depend on the question. If there is no arway or breathing patients, you priority would be the one with internal bleeding, shock, fluid invalance. Remember that the patient with breathing could be the kid brought in status asmaticus. The elderly with weezing on respirations and such. The patient with internal bleeding/shock could be the patient brought after a car accident who is contious but has a drecrease urine output, elevated pulse and low BP(all sings of shock)

And if its a pregnant woman its almost always the one with ectopic pregnancy because of the possible rupture. Usually the woman with less than 24 weeks with extreem bleeding.

Hope it makes some sense

Wow, I thought you could only fail once, and if you failed the 2nd time, you had to go back to school. Is that only for RN's?

Each BON will have their own requirements and some will not let you resit if you fail 3 times unless you do a course where others will allow unlimited attempts
