Northside Hospital Atlanta

Hey there!!

Does anyone know anything about the nurse residency program at Northside Hospital in Atlanta??

Not from Georgia and just scoping out Atlanta hospitals for potential residency programs for fall 2016, I graduate in May 2016. Let me know if any of yall know anything about it!

Everything said previously about the OR residency being a total mess is sadly true. It was awful to the point that I was happy to pay the contract break to get out as soon as I got another job. I know that at least a handful of others in my cohort did the same, likely more than I realize. It was a few thousand $$, but ultimately the best money I ever spent.

I do, however, know nurses who have done Emory's residency (in other specialties) and loved it! Also hear fantastic things about CHOA's! There's lots of other great options out there for fresh RNs in Atlanta! :)

May I ask how long ago that was, I was thinking about doing Northside's OR residency, but I want to be somewhere that offers the best training possible - learning how to both scrub and circulate.

Sadly you wont learn scrub experience at Northside. Wellstar, Emory and possibly Grady will teach scrubbing.

Does anyone have any other info about the Northside RN Residency on other units? I applied for almost every unit besides surgical services (not my fave), and have only gotten a rejection from 3 units, waiting to hear from the others. Does anyone know when they contact for interviews, or if they already have? Thanks for your help!!

Same! Waiting to hear back. Wondering if they're pooling candidates before contacting people or not... Anyone heard back yet?
