Northern Arizona University Traditional BSN

Published

Can anyone who is either attending or attended their traditional 4 year BSN program tell me a little more about how selective they are? Such as common GPA and HESI scores that students have and are accepted into the program with? Thanks in advance!

The advisors told me the previous year's statistics...average GPA as well as what range of HESI scores were ordered by priority. I'd call and ask them directly!

HI,

I'm neither former or current student at NAU's BSN program, but I'm applying there next year. I just got off the phone with a helpful woman after asking her the same questions you posed. This is what she said:

a competitive prerequisite gpa is between a 3.4 to 4.0. The average HESI A2 exam score for previous applicants is about 80%. She said to shoot for a 90 to 92% to get the most points.

Hope this helps. Good luck!!

I'm in the program now as a second degree student. Lots of people say that the program is hard to get in to. I only applied once and got in, so I didn't have that experience. I had a 3.2 gpa (not amazing) and a 92% HESI. Best of luck!

Lifesacomdey,

hi i know this is an old forum but I was just accepted to nau's accelerated bsn program and trying to find any feedback I can get. I was concerned about the travel to clinicals and how often you traveled and distance. I just got off the phone with an advisor that told me that the further clincals like yuma would only require a night or 2 at maximum and that the clinicals are more local... I would just like to know how you liked the program and any advice to someone who is trying to decide between a few schools. Mostly - if the clinical and teachers are preparing you for being a nurse. Right now the only con on my list is that I do not know very much about nau and the traveling of clinicals. Thanks !!

I just send my app in for it, I was told that above 3.5 is competative, and a hesi of 90+ is helpful.

Hope that helps
