Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
Before being accepted, we can only have a degree plan of "Associates in Applied Science". After being accepted, we can go up to the school & have it changed to "Associates in Applied Science in Nursing" (or whatever it actually is called.)
Your classes to take does become different because the actual nursing courses are in your plan once it's changed. Beforehand, it's only regular transfer-type classes.
Hope this helps. :)
Fun, just a question...why would you need to change your degree plan? I know you need to do a degree plan before you start nursing school, but are there different ways/classes you need to take? I am confused ????? Thanks in advance =]
Well, I did it. I'm taking STATS during Summer II.
My Dansko Professionals & Littman Cardiology III will have to wait. :chuckle
If I can manage a C (mixed stories on how hard STATS is), I'll have ALL of my ADN to BSN bridge pre-reqs completed before starting the ADN program in August.
I am glutton for punishment, I guess. :imbar
The key to passing stats is getting a together with a study partner or two WEEKLY and working through the stuff together - espeically if you are not so comfortable with math (I was never a math type genius).
Repetition and just working as many problems as you can find - practice practice.
I made an A and so can you!
Thanks, gauge14iv. I'm going to try my hardest! It's only a 4 week class, which could be really good, or really bad.
I did a 4 week Algebra class last winter & made an A, but I made a B the first time I took Algebra. Stats is a whole new ballgame for me!
I'll definitely work as many problems as I can!!! Thanks for the confidence.
(What about your 'friend'? Is he going to ECC?)
Thanks for the good wishes! My fingers are crossed!
Amy, I don't mind you answering :) I just appreciate the info!
Since I will finish my last support class this fall (micro), I will probably take the other classes I need for a BSN (like nutrition and stats) to keep me full time. I just need to decide which BSN program so I take the right classes!!

I hope you did well. :)
As for the RN-BSN, if I still live around here, I'm sure I'll be going to UT-Arlington. If not, then I may have to take a few other classes. (UT-Austin requires different classes.)
I'm SO glad to hear that Stats makes sense! I managed to get an A in College Algebra but I do think I worked just as hard on that A as I did for my A's in A&P 1 and 2! Algebra, to me, was like a foreign language. I do also think alot of it depends on the teacher. I had taken it once before and dropped and then I took it the 2nd time with someone else and it seemed totally different the 2nd time. Fun, who's teaching your Stats this summer?
Stats was totally different than algebra - stats actually made sense!
Does anyone know about Texas Tech's RN-BSN? I read somewhere on this site yesterday where you could complete their RN-BSN in like 6 months! I have looked at UTA but I just don't know about the 1 day for all day per week thing. What if you had to work that day??? I am looking at Univeristy of Wyoming's RN-BSN. It's 100% online and they don't charge out of state tuition and it's very reasonably priced. Plus, it wouldn't matter where you lived or what your work schedule was like. I also like the fact that their online program is hooked with their brick and mortar nursing school and both are fully accredited.
