Hi all!

I just received a verbal offer for a medsurg position at st. alexius. I am really excited about this hospital, but I am from california. Does anyone know how bismarck is for new nurses? especially housing? work environment? i am trying to keep housing 600 or under a month...hopefully with a garage to put the car cuz im pretty sure cars dont work if they sit out in -12 degrees wheather, just guessing since i'm from cali!, is this possible (im single so dont have kids or anything)? THANK YOU in advance!

also, i've heard different things about an offer letter, i havent received one but should i ask (nicely) that they send one before I accept? my dad really thinks i should. any advice?

Hello,

I am a new nurse too and just got offer a job on transitional care unit at St.Alexius, Bismarck, North Dakota too. I am from St.Louis, Missouri. I am new to this town too and currently looking for a place to stay and a roommate too. one of nurse who currently working on medical/oncology send me a list of all apartments in this area

You can ask them nicely for an offer letter too. The human resource will contact you soon about paperwork, immunization and other stuffs too.

hello, I am going to be relocating to ND for a job at St. Alexius also. I am too looking for place to stay and it would be nice to have a roommate. I am also from out of state. let me know if you're interested in being roommates. When do you plan to move into North Dakota?

@ teddy2014. I will flying to Bismarck around october 5, but I can start the rent in the first week of october

Can you tell me the pay range in nd? I'm interesting in relocating.

@9halfpint. New grad with BSN is probabbly 22- 23/ hr. They are in need of nurses so you can pick up extra shifts after you finished your orientation time. My Orientation time will be 6 weeks ( 3 weeks night and 3 weeks day) but every floor is a little different. You can apply and they will call you quick. I got 45 minutes phone interview and 2 days later they offered a job. The director who is interviewing me is SUPER NICE. I felt so confident and comfortable answers all questions honesty even though that English is my second language ( but make sure you are well- prepared). Good luck

awesome. Do you have a contact email I can keep in touch with? Have you found a place yet? I haven't endorsed my licensed yet. Do you know how long that process is going to take?

@ Haba89 I thank you so much for answering my question I filled out an application online and I have an interview tomorrow. I will work (3) 12 hour shifts most likely on mornings. I will be in fargo nd. I'm so excited as it's my first job. What town will be will staying? As for me I'll have to look for a place near by as I from New York City. Is this your first job?

Thanks so much

@teddy 2014. North Dakota is a comtact state and I am from Missouri so both Missouri and north Dakota are compact state so I do not have to fill out any paper work. My email is [email protected]. You can go through BisManOnline Free Classifieds to find a housing and possible to find a roommate because a lot of people are looking for a roommate. Everything is on that website, but you have to choose wisely and be careful. I got some couple options for housing but I am not content yet, so you can look for a 2 bed rooms apartment and if you like it and you can send that too me. But Please do it quick and I need to find a housing before October 5

@9 halfpint. Yes it is my first RN job out of nursing school. ( May 2014 graduate). So you are having an interview for Sanford in Fargo or Sanford in Bismarck? sanford has many locations. I believed they have 3 locations in north Dakota and 1 location in Minnesota. So Please come to work for Sanford at Bismarck because St.Alexius and Sanford is very closed and we can be roommates too if you live in Bismarck, but if you chose Fargo that would be 2.5 hours from Bismarck lol.

@habas89 I will be in fargo as that where the hospital is located. I wish you and u could be roommates but as you've stated I'll to far. (Sad face) it's also my fist job as well.

What state are you from?

@9halfpint. I am from Missouri and original from Viet Nam. Good luck on your interview tomorrow. just be honest because they know you are a new grad with not much experience.
