two more weeks until my fiance and i move to nc. time is really going by fast now. i think i have the majority of my ducks in a row as far as everything needed from here to start down there. i got my offical offer letter from pcmh in the mail saturday. now it feels real, that i actually do have a job after looking for so long.

so very soon, i'll be a resident of nc. but i hate to hurt feelings though, this gal will always bleed ky blue :paw::D i just hope i can watch some of the football games on fsn south.

now, to find a hotel to stay in. we won't be able to look for a place to live until we get down there :sniff: so it will be me, my cat, my fiance, and his dog in a hotel room until we find a place to rent. though my fiance keeps out hope that we can still buy a place. i seriously doubt it though.

Welcome to NC! I'm a KY transplant also. I actually love it here. Shoot me a PM once you make the move. I might be able to give you some suggestions. Again, welcome!!!

Yep. We'll be living in the Greenville area once we find something, but at first we'll be staying in a hotel.

Specializes in Cath Lab, OR, CPHN/SN, ER.

Good luck! Did Hearthside ever contact you back? We've sent off all of our money for deposits and stuff. Still sounds like you'll be in orientation with my husband June 1.

Here are some extended stay places:

Candlewood Suites: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cw/1/en/hotel/grnsb?&cm_mmc=mdpr-_-YahooLocal-_-cw-_-grnsb

All are very close to the hospital.

Hearthside never did call me back. Wainright replied to their emails very quickly LOL. I also found a few places in the rental guide I picked up while there for interviews. The sticking point with my soon to be husband is rents over $500. Regardless of what I'm making, he wants payments in a range he can afford to keep a roof over our heads and the power on if something happens to this job. Not a bad idea, just makes it harder to find something decent in a decent area. Plus, we want to actually look at something before plunking down a deposit and finding out it's actually a rat-trap.

One thing I find odd about PCMH is how they do paydays. The pay period ends on June 7th, so why do they wait until the 18th for payday...half way thru the next pay period? Weird, at least to me.

I'm scared, excited, paranoid all at the same time about starting this new adventure.

Yep! That's how my job does it too. The pay period ended today, and I'll get paid for the time I submitted today in two weeks.

I'm used to the pay period ending that Sunday and you having your check by that same Friday.

Congrats! I work at PCMH too. What floor will you be on?

I'm not sure whether or not you're looking for an apartment but three really nice apartment complexes close to the PCMHl are Treybrooke Village, Waterford Place, and Hyde Park. But it's been about 4 years since I've been to Greenville so I'm sure a lot has changed. Anyway...Good luck!

Unless they've done some renovations within the past 4 years...Most of the Wainright properties are "rat-traps" or at least I think so.

Except for maybe Holly Glen
