Two more weeks....

U.S.A. North Carolina

two more weeks until my fiance and i move to nc. time is really going by fast now. i think i have the majority of my ducks in a row as far as everything needed from here to start down there. i got my offical offer letter from pcmh in the mail saturday. now it feels real, that i actually do have a job after looking for so long.

so very soon, i'll be a resident of nc. but i hate to hurt feelings though, this gal will always bleed ky blue :paw::D i just hope i can watch some of the football games on fsn south.

now, to find a hotel to stay in. we won't be able to look for a place to live until we get down there :sniff: so it will be me, my cat, my fiance, and his dog in a hotel room until we find a place to rent. though my fiance keeps out hope that we can still buy a place. i seriously doubt it though.

Sounds like Lexington, KY or any major college town LOL. When I went to UK you learned what time a day to avoid Nicholasville Rd. A road which twice a day, morning and afternoon...becomes all one way traffic either going into campus or out of it. You definately did not what to be at a store on the wrong side of the road if you were needing to go the opposite direction.

I am going to try really hard for us not to live too close to campus. When I first went to college I couldn't wait until I had a job so I could move off campus....so it could be quiet....LOL and I was 19 at the time. You can imagine how I'd feel now.

When I was in Lexington I was so excited to be away from my parents. Now, I'm not so excited anymore. Excited to be starting a new job and career....just not excited about moving out of state again. We are supposed to leave tomorrow, but with our luck it will end up being Thursday.

We made it into Greenville ok. Now to get a good nights sleep, it's been a long couple of days.

Welcome to NC. I lived in Lexington for four years. Have you thought about living in Farmville? I can get to the hospital parking lot in 10 minutes (beats those who live across town in Greenville...especially when the train goes through town) I also know about Nicholasville Road...when we first came to town we were driving a big moving van and happened upon 1600 traffic. Suddenly the lights changed and people were coming at me. Not a fun experience. If you need anything let me know.

I will be on 3 North. Enjoy PCMH!

Ouch, Nicholasville Rd is not a fun one regardless of what time of day but 0700 anf 1600 are the worse.

Do you know about any rentals in Farmville?

There are a few private homes to rent here. Really takes a quick drive around town to see them. What are you looking for? I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.

We are looking for something that will accept both our pets without nickel and diming us to death on all the fees. One apartment complex we went to wanted $200 per pet, pet deposit...plus $25/month per pet, pet rent. Of course there is the regular security deposits, application fees, etc. And I wasn't too impressed with the property, yet they wanted $400 just for our pets, plus $50/month extra pet rent.

We would would love to find something that was rent to own, but those are hard to find we are finding. Which road do we take to get to Farmville to look at what's available?

One of these days we are going to get to B's Bar-b-que. We have found and love Abrams :)

Take 264 West. There are a few road options. You can get off at the Mozingo Rd. exit to Bell Arthur. It's a small community, but it's nice.

The next exit is pretty much a connector road. Take a right and then turn left onto Stantonsburg Rd. You'll soon come to a stop sign, turn left and that will turn into Main St. and run you into downtown Farmville.

The next exit after that (there is a food lion and some fast food places there) will also take you to Farmville. Turn left at that exit and it will also run you into downtown Farmville.

We went out 43 yesterday after being told me would see signs about homes for rent. We went as far out as I was willing LOL, then turned onto 121 through Farmville then onto I guess Stantonsburg Rd...it became Dickenson.

Hopefully I'll get done a little early tomorrow so we can look at a few more places.

Unless they've done some renovations within the past 4 years...Most of the Wainright properties are "rat-traps" or at least I think so.

Except for maybe Holly Glen

Hmmm....I rented from Wainright (Hampton Creek) and had no problems. The place was clean and bright. I had a late payment once due to miscommunication with the fiance and they didn't charge me for it. We recently had to sublease it and they were extremely helpful. I really thought they were great IMHO!

Oh ya, and my friend lived at Holly Glen which was also nice, and she had no issues with mgt.
