New Grad BSN

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

New grad BSN graduating in July, interested in Wilmington, Raleigh, and Charlotte. I'm from MS and currently live in AL. I'm very familiar with NC but not the hospitals. Which ones are best for new grads in these locations based on pay, benefits, and turnover rate? I'm doing my practicum in MICU

Raleigh/Durham has an excellent market for new grads. If you look on the Duke, UNC, and Wake Med websites, look at new grad job postings and their new graduate programs and you'll see.

Most hospitals in that area do their new grad interviews/applications WAY in advance, so make sure you look early. I think Duke/UNC only put them out early in the month - like from 1st-5th. Try Rex in Raleigh area too. They do lots of new grad stuff.

Thank you!! How early? I don't graduate till July so I'm trying to not get mixed in with the May graduates and end up getting pushed aside.

Thank you!! Do you happen to know the average base pay for new grads in raleigh for any of the hospitals? I can't find it on their websites!

Duke posts new grad stuff usually around the 3rd week of the month and they have had a few open house hiring events (Rex has too). Pay, I think is around low $20s/hr. for most.

I believe the new BSN graduates that were recently hired on at UNC Rex started at $26/hr. I'm not sure what their shift diffs are, though.

New grads in the Duke health system start at $23.16/hr + differential. They started hiring in February for positions to start in July.

Thanks everyone!! Anyone know anything about wilmington or charlotte pay?

Can't believe Rex is paying that much. Have to look into that! I don't make that, base and I am certified in my specialty. Differentials are good as a weekender though.

I know Wilmington (New Hanover) starts new grads at $22.11/hr not sure on differentials ...

Thanks everyone!! Anyone know anything about wilmington or charlotte pay?
