I don't know much, but you might want too look into Blue Ridge Healthcare at Blue Ridge HealthCare - Official Home Page - Morganton, NC. I just checked out the employment section and they mention that they are hiring new grads. :)

Wake Forest Baptist Health, Forsyth Medical Center, UNC Health System, High Point Regional...just naming a few places classmates and I have been offered positions as new ADN graduates :)

Where are you hoping to relocate and what type of program are you graduating from?

Thanks for reply MotivatedOne. I applied to Wake Forest and UNC. But the process takes forever and still waiting to hear from them as well as many others. I finally got reply from Duke and I can't wait to receive more information about the interview.

I graduated with BSN-RN in CA. The job market is tough here, so I decided to get my RN license in NC and relocate anywhere in that area. Anything that comes first I'll take it.

I only applied to Baptist...kind of kicking myself now because I'd love to get out of this area but oh well. I was offered a new grad position there in the Journey's program! You could also try Moses Cone...although I'm not really a big fan of that facility they PREFER BSN graduates and won't even consider ADN graduates until August so you have a bit of an advantage there :-)

Are you applying for new graduate positions or regular staff positions? I know some places are making people sign 2-3 year contracts since they're investing so much in our training. So that's something to keep in mind when applying!

Have you moved here yet or are you in the process of moving. Also, have you already taken the NCLEX?

Thanks for the hint on Moses Cone. I will check it out.

I am mostly applying for NG positions, unless I can find anything else that does not require experience. I do not have a trouble to sign the contract with the hospital for a long term period. If they offer further advancement in my career then I am okay with it.

I took my NCLEX in January 2012 (graduated 12/2011), so I have RN license in both states, CA and NC. I also did some extra certifications to make my resume stronger. However, here in CA it is so competitive that even those are not enough. I feel like nothing through nursing school was as hard as getting that first job. I am still living in CA but ready to move anytime I get that first job in NC.

How is your new job? What department did you get? Could you choose?

I apologize for the delay. You're given the opportunity to choose 3 areas of interest. After your initial interview, the nurse recruiter will then forward your information to the unit manager of those areas that she feels you may be a good fit. I'm already employed at Wake Forest Baptist Health as a nurse's assistant and decided to transition as a RN on my home unit! Orientation doesn't start until July 9th.

Are you still in CA, have you moved to NC? If so, what part and where did you find a job? There are still quite a few people in my graduating class looking for jobs. The majority of my fellow classmates were hired at High Point Regional!

Congrats on your new job! I'm a nurse at WakeMed and love it there. My husband is a hospitalist at Duke and he really likes it there as well and he says all of the nurses there are really good and competent. I think you'll like the area as well.
