I am starting my college this summer , I am very excited and also nervous (a lot;) ) That's because, even thou I have a degree in english from another country, I know there is a lot of things to work on my english. especially, I am very worried about presentations and discussions but anyhow, the thing is.. I have finished my registration, this is what I made..

ENG 090 (on-line)

REA 090

BIO 090

Is it kind of 'too much' for non-native english speaker(with 10-month old baby!) for summer semester? I know I will do my best but still.. I want to hear some advices so that I can be ready ;)

Hi,

where are you from?

I am from Germany and I also majored in English (translation) over there at the university. Now i took the placement test here, and i achieved a score of 119.9 out if a possible 120. So i am really not worried about it anymore. I dont know if you ever took the TOEFL or anything like it, but i personally think that the tests for non-native speakers seem to be harder than the ones for native speakers ;-) anyway, i do understand your worries, but i think you'll be just fine. The one thing i am slightly concerned about is the pronounciation of medical terms- i tend to pronounce everything "latin" and when its pronounced in English, it suddenly sounds completely different.... anyway, we can do it!! Good Luck to you!!

btw...what is REA090??

hi, WannaBeNurse! Thanks for the reply! I am from S. korea

I took the placement test as well and my english score was like.."94" which is a little bit lower to take English 121 (or 101) and REA 090 is a reading class. The instructor told me that It's mandatory to take those classes for me. yes! we can do it! Thank you so much! :) and again, Thanks for the advice

English is my second language, too. It's been challenging but so far I have done very well in all subjects. It just requires a little extra work at times. Hang in there and good luck ;)
