non-invasive cardiology nurse

Hello All Nurses I am a grad of Dec 04 who has been working on an interventional cardiac unit- very fast paced. There will be an opening in non- invasive cardiology soon, and I am wanting to know what those nurses do. I do have 6 mos experience on the interventional; would that be enough for non- invasive? Please tell me your experiences- much appreciated. I want to have a realistic view before I apply for an interview. Thanks in advance- JR

I read your earlier post and was a little puzzled how to reply. I would assume this is a position in a large medical center, and one's duties would be helping with the Treadmill/Stress Lab, and possibly helping with contrast administration in the Echo Lab (TEEs strike me as being invasive, but perhaps you'd be sedating and monitoring for those as well). Is it a position in cardiac rehab?? I'd recommend asking the dept exactly where you'd be working and what you'd be doing. Can you talk with a nurse there that is currently in the position, or has recently worked in it?

Best of luck, keep us informed; I'm curious to know what it's about! -- D
