Non-HCA hospital travel agencies

Published

I'm looking for a nursing travel agency that staffs non-HCA hospitals. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Every single one of them! (Except HCA owned Parallon of course). Do you have any other special requests to help narrow down the other 300 something agencies?

Specializes in ER.

I use RN Network and TravelMax.

Had a bad experience with Onward which is a part of AMN

From talking to Onward recruiting managers, they had some traveler unfriendly policies that vanished but lingered a bit after AMN bought them. If you were impacted by that say 2014 to middle of 2015, things should be better now.

Hi NedRN, I tried sending you a message but your mailbox was full so I am going to post my question here, you can email me if you prefer.

Hello I am a medsurg nurse interested in pursuing travel nursing. From your experiences, which companies did you find the best in things like pay, housing, nursing support, recruiters, benefits....I was looking into Fastaff, Medpro, Cross Country, American Travelers, MGA Healthcare. Also which states did you find the best as far as the quality of nursing. Thank you so much. I really value your expertise.

I don't recommend specific agencies unless there is something special. Which ones work for you depend on your relationship with your recruiter, the agency brand is far less important. Talk to them and see which ones you communicate well with and can trust. You want a good first assignment so focus on recruiters who relate to that and you believe they will try to do that. Don't worry so much about location or pay, just get your foot in the door with a successful assignment on your work history.

Quality of nursing? Are you looking for treatment as a patient? You probably mean good places to work. Again, your recruiter is important. If you want generalities, working in areas with strong union hospitals usually means better working conditions. California has a staffing ratio law.
