I hear that it's tough for graduates to get a job after graduation.Does this new trend make you regret having gone to Nursing school? Im just curious to know.It bothers me to know this but I don't see myself doing anything else so I will keep on chasing my dream to become a Nurse.

To say I regret it is a little strong, but if I had known it was so hard to get a job I probably wouldn't have done it, I left a pretty good job for my last year of nursing school and now I am really tapped out financially and scared about the job market. But I am going to try to find some type of job

Having difficult time finding employment doesn't mean I don't want to be nurse anymore or regret becoming a nurse.

I haven't graduated yet but even if the market is rebounded by then I will just try hard to find a job in it. I don't think there is any career personally that guarantees jobs anymore and even though there are some that are probably a lot easier, its probably work I wouldn't enjoy.

I have one more semester to go and although I have heard that it's hard to get a job, I know a few of my friends who were hired quite easily. To those just starting out, I can't stress this enough, GET AN EXTERNSHIP!!!!
I didn't, but my friends who did had an easier time finding a job (Woodhull, Kings County and St. Lukes). They are all CUNY graduates with ASNs. So it's certainly not impossible. It takes a lot of networking and persistence and that starts WHILE YOU'RE STILL IN SCHOOL.
With that being said, no I do not regret my decision. If that's your passion and if you keep trying you will find something sooner or later.
:yeah:
