Hey all, yesterday I registered for the NLN PAX nursing exam, I'll be taking it on November 8th and I'm very nervous just thinking about it. Who's taken this exam recently? How difficult would you say it it, from 1-10. What are some tips and strategies you used before the exam? My school is very competitive and I talked to a classmate and she said she got in the 130's but she said if you score in the high 120's, or higher, that should be good enough to get accepted. In all my pre-reqs I received A's and B's, but my GPA right now, not including this semester, is 3.289, hopefully this semester will bring it up a little because my Microbiology brought it down tremendously. I want to start studying now, I think I'll need to practice a lot of math without a calculator!! From what I've been reading from others is that there's basic biology, a lot of physics (which I'm taking now in hopes that it will help me during the exam, also taking chemistry and prob. & stat.) I've read...study the roots for english and that's about it, can't really study much for that section. Am I missing anything?

Hi bm90
did you pass the test and get selected into nursing school ? was it hard?
I don't think there's a pass or fail to this exam but it all depends on the school you're applying to. I believe the exam, points wise, goes up to a 160, I got a 111. The english kinda messed up my grade..the math and science I did very well in. I'll find out if I got accepted into the nursing program at my school on Jan. 12. Almost there!!! I'm so nervous!
what school did u apply?
In SANTA MONICA COLLEGE, Los Angeles, it requires 114 to pass. I called the Counselor, she said the English Part is the difficult one. usually, it's around 40% ppl who get invitated to take the test fail it.
It makes me kinda nervous. good luck with ur application.
