Hello!
Does anyone know how one goes about getting a substitute nurse certificate in NJ? I am going to be starting the CSN program at RU in the fall, but wanted to work as a substitute in the mean time.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I applied at my local school disctrict for an open sub position and they coordinated getting my sub cert with the county.
What part of jersey are you?
I'm in Jersey City. I am going to be attending the Rutgers program in the fall but wanted to get my feet wet and make some connections by getting my sub-cert until I can complete the program.
I'll look into the local districts and see if there are any openings. Thank you!
I'm not too sure about Jersey City, but most district websites I looked at had openings for subs. Especially with spring coming there are so many field trips. Good luck!

The sub certs are by county. Everyone needs subs. Apply at a school you are interested in. You'll need fingerprint, background, and recent TB. The person at the board of ed where you apply will help and get you the very but you will be required to pay for the prints and check. The cert is good for 5 years. Once you get your school nurse cert, you don't need the sub cert anymore. Good luck!
