Hi all,

I have heard & read that it is ill advised for a brand new LPN to work nights at as assisted living facility / nursing home. The orientation is short, and then you're seemingly thrown in to "sink or swim" - This coming from my brother in law, who is an RN. I was wondering if any of you have experienced or seen this, and could tell me your thoughts. Is it just as absolute no no to start off this way?

For some insight, I am married but have no children. Ideally would like to work part time, 2-3 nights a week. My husband works 6 days a week and often travels for work out of state. Would it be wiser to start off on days, and switch to nights after several months? Have any of you gone through this or wondered the same thing? Any advice on overall differences between days & nights?
