NICU rotation

I had my NICU rotation today, and it was the best!! I have known all along this is where I wanted to be (had two micro-preemies of my own) but today just completely fired me up and I feel renewed and more motivated than ever. It was so natural for me to be in there, and I love the acuity/challenge of taking care of these little ones. I dreamt about being in NICU all night last night...however, in my dream...my patients were invisible...LOL. Don't know what that means, but I won't try to psychoanalyze myself. I am in way too good of a mood for that, :rotfl:

Anyhow, just wanted to share. My family is tired of hearing me blab about my great day!

Yay you! I've been wanting to do NICU since before I started nursing school - no idea why, had no experience w/it, it just seemed right, and I spent the first half of school terrified that I'd actually hate it and then have no idea what to do with myself. Then I had my day in the NICU...and it was heaven. It just felt right. I can't wait to graduate (ten weeks, woot!) and spend all my time with the little ones.
