New Grad in the NICU

  1. Hello,

I am a new grad and about to start working in the NICU. I was trying to find a good textbook on NICU nursing so I could learn as much as I can and go home and read about what I saw in the hospital. Does anybody have any suggestions for a really good NICU nursing textbook?

Yay, we're starting out in the NICU together! I found this thread:

    Member-recommended neonatal reading list!

It helped me a lot and I bought two books that it recommended- "Handbook of Neonatal Intensive Care" and "Newborn Intensive Care: What Every Parent Needs to Know." I've had both books for about two weeks now and have been able to go through them pretty well. I'd highly recommend both of them. I'm yet to start (start orientation on the 6th), but these two already helped boost my knowledge on NICU specific topics and I'm sure will only further help me once I start. Good luck!
