One of my dialysis patients went to his local health dept. to see if they had any flu vaccine. They explained that they only got 5 doses, enough for their nurses. Then one RN came forward and stated to them (patient and his wife), "You are very immuno-compromised, you need this worse than I do...you can have mine!"
I thought that was very, very noble. Our facility will be getting some vaccine in the next 2-3 weeks, and we have called that nurse to have her come to our facility when we get our vaccine in...so we can share the favor!

Well I guess I would be considered a very very kind, selfless generous nurse, too, because I wouldn't have the flu vaccine for a million dollars.

I think that is really a neat story and appreciate your sharing. What a great bunch of compassionate nurses you all are!! :)

Very thoughtful indeed. Thanx for sharing. :)
Our dialysis facility received our usual amount... for all our patients plus staff, plus extra in case we had new admissions. We're hoping our sister facilities will be able to use what we have left.
