Hi,
I graduated nursing school last month, but unfortunately I didn't find any specific area of nursing that I really gravitated toward. I would like to be a traveling nurse because I'm a wandering soul (and because I'm terrified if I make a permanent move away from my home town, I won't like the hospital I end up at and regret it).
Anywhoo, my question relates to finding a new job as a new grad- although I do have 6 yrs experience as an LPN. Im sure I'm not the first to run into the issue that the majority of hospitals want 2 yrs experience as an RN, but how can you gain experience if they won't hire you?!
If anyone has any suggestions of hospitals in the U.S. that are hiring new grads or suggestions for traveling nurse agencies that will hire out of school?
Any help is appreciated!

Travel agencies will not hire new grads. When a hospital hires a travel nurse, the expectation is for them to hit the floor with minimal training. They are wasting their money if they have to train their travel nurse for most of their contract.

Google the words "New grad rn residency job" and plenty of hospitals will pop up that are happy to take on a new graduate and train them.... for a contract with an obligation to work a certain amount of time.
