Hey there..
Thinking of relocating to NYC. I have been researching hospitals and housing. I see that some hospital have housing for their employees..NYP being one such place. If anyone has any info let me know. Debating whether I want to come as traveler or go FT with hospital right of the bat. Will be moving with teenage son...getting into a good high school seems to be the most difficult hurdle we will face! Thanks to all...

The wait list for housing at NYP is quite long, and some of my friends have waited up to 2 years for a particular apt. IMHO you can find comparable housing on your own. The benefit to the employee housing is that it is across the street from the hospital, and your rent is split and taken out with every paycheck rather than once a month. I used craigslist and found a better deal than EH offered. Most housing are walkups without laundry in the building.

I know a studio apartment starts at $1475/month, so I'd imagine that the price of a one bedroom is higher.
I think the 1 bedrooms at Cornell in the new hi-rise are >$2200, and at Columbia are at least $1200 for a walkup sans laundry.
Hardly seems worth it...have seen many great apts online in that price range. It would be great to be right there...but seems easier to find one on my own. Can get 2 bedroom in upper east side for 2500 per NYC dwellers. Thanks for the info!!
