VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Can you tell me what books they are asking us to buy. Maybe I can find something out.

About buying the shoes...In my room they said NO SNEAKERS, NO CROCS, NO CLOGS...but then said to check out payless for shoes....But wouldn't the shoes you get at payless be white SNEAKERS? That confused me so maybe i'll just stick with a site that deals with nurse shoes? hehe i dunno.

:lol2:Hehe Yea, I caught that too...I was like hmmmm...ok!

I was checking out Nursemate shoes online. They dont seem insanely expensive nor TOO hideous...

And about the book. I really dont know. I mean, I know what they SAID. They said DONT buy the older books, only buy the LATEST editions. But remember, "Grindin" had warned us thats excactly what they would say. So I just dont know. How much different could the 2008 version be from the 2009 version?:uhoh21: I wish I knew the answers! Hopefully we can all figure this out together, because I am really NOT trying to spend $600 on books.

Can you give me the names of the books that's needed?

I got my books today, girls ,am like will i be able to read all of this?????????? :nono: it's like a huge box of books.

Someone post the book list (title+edition) and maybe I'll be able to better assist you.

The school uses the same modules every year which translates into the same material every year.

Usually the only difference between editions of the same book are page numbers and grammatical/factual errors

And the only study guide I would buy is the Memmler's study guide.

And they said not to buy the books used because all the listed books are the latest and most up-to-date version, but when i went on Amazon.com i seemed to find that all the books they had on the list as being a 2008 edition were listed on amazon.com as the August 2007 edition.

Does anyone know if buying those books would be the out-dated version? Or in the printing world August 2007 IS the 2008 edition? I just don't want to wind up messing it all up. I think I'll just call VEEB tomorrow.

Thanks for any help from anyone else trying to buy the (right) books online.

Were you in classroom A?

That's correct grindin

Were you in classroom A?

I was in Classroom FSA for last names A-JA. (anyone else?)

And so far the only difference I caught between the 2008 and 2009 edition was the price. (but i havent seem them physically, only going by the picture and descriptions online.)
