U have a question. I am sure this is not common but I would like to hear the opinion.

As we now basic nursing program required minimum AS degree. I do have A.S degree and also bachelor degree both from non us university. SBU require to evaluate from WES the transcript. I only evaluated my AS degree and didnt evaluated bachelor degree to not paying an other 220$. In addition as a supporter document I upload the transcript included diploma. And since I don't choice any class to be transferred from bachelor part.

Do you think is it cause any problem?

Ps : my all pre required courses were took in USA (cuny college ) I just selected only 3 class from my previous degree as elective course that required for 16 credit .

So now we wait...:)

Yes the waiting begins! Good luck!

I don't believe it's too difficult to get housing I know classmates that transferred in and got it..as far as volunteer work while in the program- it is a great idea but in my opinion I wouldn't make any decisions until you start the program..your first semester you will take 24 credits..fundamentals of nursing, health assessment, biomath, health care policy, perspectives of nursing, pathology and pharmacology..i had to quit my job it was too much.. I know ppl that did it with a job and volunteering but it was just too stressful for me..it's a very heavy courseload.

Everyone including myself waited to submit their applications because of the personal statement. I was told there are students in the program that do not all have excellent GPAs. With that said I worked really hard and long on my personal statement. I'm not a 4.0 student so that part of the application was extremely important to me.

24 credits? Definitely a heavy course load. If I get into this program I will be leaving my job at the end of the summer.

SBU is very competitive for admission as well as in class progress so far I heard. Ned to be work hard to be successful.

BioD1234 - I read the thread where you were all waiting to get in. I must say all the acceptances made me smile. lol. So how has the program been so far? The one thing I didn't research was whether or not they had evening and weekend classes. Do they? Not that it matters, I'll be going there whether they do or not, providing I get accepted of course.

I don't think so they do have weekend class. But of course biod1234 know better.

Also I remember bio1234 post last year and it is very nice .. Hopefully we will get the answer that make us smile

Yea no weekend classes. The program is designed for full time study only.

Evadney77 and ozzy84- thank you! I have to say, the day I got my acceptance letter was one of the best days of my life. The program is great, I love it! It's very hard and alot of work, but so worth it. The faculty is just amazing and they are so supportive, it really is a great program. I'm crossing my fingers for u guys I know this waiting process is treacherous!

Also- there are no weekend or night classes, but you can choose to do your clinicals on the weekends rather than during the week. That will leave Thursdays free.

If I get in program ill quit my job and move to Long Island from NYC. So just focus to school only and practice.
