Hey, I'm from Staten Island!

St Vincent's is a good hospital, affiliated with the one in Manhattan. I didn't know they had a nursing school, though. I'm sure it's excellent, as it's a teaching hospital.

A relative of mine was pleased when she attended

several years ago.

There was an article about possible changes

in the nursing program when SV merged w/ Bayonne Hospital a

short time ago. Perhaps you can find it on-line in the archives of the

"Staten Island Advance." Best of luck.

St. Vinnys in Staten Island is now the Richmond University Medical Center dunno if they still have to program anymore.....

It's a good program. They offer an Associate degree after two years of study. They have more clinical experience than a college program.

They are currently housed at Bayley Seton Hospital, 75 Vanderbilt Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10304, on the 5th floor.

I graduated from the St. Vincents Staten Island Nursing school in June of 2005. I had the best clinical experience there, 2 days a week, which is more than most nursing schools. I started out in the College of Staten Island's program and I actually failed the first class by one point. If you fail, you are out of their program and you have to reapply. I reapplied, and did not get back in until 6 months later, and I was also accepted at St. Vincent. I'm glad I decided to go with St. vincents program b/c I liked it much better. The classes are smaller and more personal. The teachers know you by first name, and the teachers will have lunch with you, stay late, and do whatever it takes to help you if you need help. I strongly recommend their program. I am working in the best hospital in NY because I had one of the best training programs. Good Luck!

I would like to thank everybody that responded .... I spoke to st Vincent's school of nursing and unfortunately the application window was closed for September classes in March!!! ... But they said there possibly having a new class in January 08

GOOD !

There was so much controversy over whether or not the school would continue, and if there would be a name change.
