Has anyone received their acceptance letter for Spring 2013? I heard letters started going out last week...

When I received the acceptance call from the Queens location, I was asked to come in to complete the financial aid package. Most recently, I was asked to come in to go over transfer credits and put down the deposit. The only paper I have received at home is a checkoff list telling me I still needed 1 more PPD, proof of influenza vaccination, and the BLS certification.

Can someone that is in the Staten Island campus now let me know what the night schedule is going to look like? Trying to figure out how many days a week and at what time I will have school... Thanks!

The packet contained the following in it:

1) acceptance letter - the acceptance letter basically says that in order to continue with the admission process you have to first go in and sign an enrollment agreement, pay a $500 tuition deposit. it also says that we need to complete a criminal background check online.. its around $65. it also states that we must get a urine drug screen for quest diagnostics . There is a big packet which is a medical form which needs to be filled out by your doc. The letter also states that we are requires to be certified in BCLS before classes start.

The packet also contains the medical forum packet, a paper with info about criminal background checks, and a paper that you have to bring with you when you go to quest diagnostics to get your urine drug screen done,.

Primadon22 when did you take the HESI? How long did it take them to call you? I took mine on the 13th & it feels like I've been waiting forever!

How crazy is it that the morning of my HESI, a thread for St Paul's for Jan 2013 is at the top of the NY Nursing board. I am crazy nervous. My HESI is in a few hours. I am applying for the Queens location. My original HESI date was the last week of October, but because of Sandy I had to reschedule. I am so afraid that I am getting it all done so close to the beginning of the semester. I hope they still have space for me. I am still undecided now, because I have all the sciences from a previous college, I just need the nursing courses. If I can get an idea of what time and day the nursing courses are then I would know if I can do nights or day. Anyone know yet of the course schedule? Thanks!

Briana810, I took the Hesi in July, was on the waiting list for September but did not get called. The process is a bit frustrating. Did you receive an acceptance packet yet? You can call your advisor and ask what your chances are of getting in for January. Are you in Staten Island or Queens?

LM NY don't be nervous, I was so scared taking it & I studied for a month, I had an extra week because Sandy effected my testing date so. I found it to be pretty easy except the vocabulary being that barely any of the words I studied were on it but the sentences helped me figure it out. I got an overall score of 87.

Primadon22 I'm applying for Queens. I'm nervous about them telling me I can't go for January since it's so close to the date. I really don't want to wait a whole other year! They haven't sent me anything yet. They told me they will call within a week or 2, but classes start early January so I feel like they're pushing it. Are you in Queens or SI?

Oh & Primadon22 in regard to your stethoscope question I've read that Littmann is one of the best. You can go on allhearts.com they have a huge selection & a lot of them are on sale right now.

I already requested this one for Christmas ?

Starting January 11 (a week late cause of sandy). In Queens at day. Man, im so excited!

@Primadon: that stethascope is expensive, im holding off until the semester starts until im sure if i should get that specifically. But i heard that is one of the best.

Also does anyone know what is the book for Nursing Foundations and Med Surge 1 that we'll be using? I was thinking of buying them now and and just read early. Thanks in advance for anyone sending me the info.
