QCC Nursing Program ... Help Please!

U.S.A. New York

I am going to apply to the Nursing program at QCC for Fall 2015 and have some questions and concerns and would like to hear from any current students or graduates. Let me start by saying I was in college almost 20 years ago and did not do very well (young and unfocused). I was first at SUNY Albany for 3 semesters and then placed on academic probation and subsequently left school. I then was at CCNY for 2 semesters before I stopped school all together to follow a career in mortgage banking/real estate. Long story short I have since decided to pursue a career in healthcare and have been working as a CNA in a hospital for almost a year now. During this time I have been taking classes non-matriculated at QCC for 3 semesters (Initially this was so I could start right away but I never got around to getting my transcripts sent over).

My Grades are currently as follows:

Anatomy Physiology 1: A-

Anatomy Physiology 2: A-

Psychology 101: A

Psychology 220: A

Math 119: A-

Microbiology: A

English 101: A

English 102: A

Sociology 101: In Progress

NLN Pax Score taken in November 2014: 150

This semester I am finally getting my transcripts sent over but to be quite frank I can't even remember what I took almost 20 years ago. My concern is how they will weigh my performance on my transcripts which I know are horrible. I've never been to advisement as of yet and kind of just started taking classes in the hopes my performance now will speak for itself. If anyone can help with some insight and possibly quell my concerns about some bureacratic formality that will block my admission into the program it would be greatly appreciated. I've heard that QCC will not accept transfer credit from more than 15 years ago so does that absolve me from my initially horrid college experience back in the mid 1990's? Also is it true that you are not allowed to do clinicals in a hospital where you are also employed?

Thanks in advance for any input ... positive or negative.

Also NLN PAX percentiles are as follows

Math: 99%

Science:99%

English:92%

I'm okay if you just tell me shut up and stop worrying ....

Greetings! QCC Nursing Alumna here! You have a very very high chance of getting accepted into the nursing program. Your grades are excellent and your PAX score is outstanding. Best of luck to you!

Did you take all your science courses such as A/P I & II & Microbiology when you were a non-matriculated student at QCC? I heard that non-degree students may not enroll in high demand science courses.
