just hired at NS Manhasset... starting 63,950 with 5200 night diff for ASN new grad... guess it's a little different b/c NS forest hills is actually under 1199 from what HR told me.
These are the per diem rates posted for RNs at Winthrop:
$39/hr day shift
$43/hr evening shift
$46/hr night shift
They said these are the rates for ICU and ER positions. I think other floors about a $3/hr less...
CONGRATULATIONS BILLYTHEKID.

If you look through some of the pages in this thread you will find it. I believe it was 71,000 to start.

NY Presbyterian in White Plains, NY has 8 hr shifts and offers new grad BSN's $67K for the day shift and $73K for evenings or nights.
I can only speak from my experience and what others have specifically told me, but I do think that 12 patients on med-surg would be an extreme case, perhaps where someone called in sick...I don't think that would be considered a "typical" load...I worked a "step-down floor" and had between 5 and 9 patients...the contract specifies one-to-seven nurse-to-patient ratio, but that ratio is not often observed; neverthless, I have found many positives here such as computerized charting, a supportive, friendly administration, good "support" services (e.g., pharmacy, nurse assistants, respiratory therapists, supply dep't), and of course the beautiful Park Slope neighborhood---a nice brownstone neighborhood with cafes, used bookstore, restaurants (and even a Starbucks right across the street for diehard fans!)---nice change from the sterile Upper East Side skyscrapers where NYPresb, Sloan-Kettering, HSSurgery, and Lenox Hill are situated..AND Methodist's current NYSNA contract provides for extra pay for up to thirty years of experience...in comparison, I believe that Mt Sinai, for example, maxes out at additional pay at 7 or 8 years.......
Thank you for this information. I recently interviewed at NYMH after looking at several upper east side hospitals and I must say you have sold me on NYMH! Support all around is key especially when it comes to heavy patient nurse ratio. I was wondering is there a set number of patients/ nurse ratio on a step down unit that hospital goes by? I am looking for an insight as to what are the better units in the hospital? How are the nurse managers do they really support their staff? Any additional insight will do and thanks for your
If anyone has any information on St. Lukes-Roosevelt please let me know. I hear that they have weekly open interviews but I can't find the information anywhere! :typing

my friend just got an offer for Winthrop. $64k ($65k for BSN) and $6,500 night diff. They've increased their incentive package too, to become more competitive w/ NSLIJ.
