hello everyone,

i'm planning to apply to lich..but i wanted some info from students that are currently in the program, graduated or going into the program. does anyone know how competitive it is? what do they look at most for accepting students?

Congrats and hats off to u.

thanks for reply! i called a couple of times and was told that my application is being reviewed, that was like 3 weeks ago. i didn't get a call for interview and thought that probably they have filled all the spots. well maybe they will give me a call. like u said, u never know. i have been accepted to touro college. i needed to send them a deposit by this past monday, which i did. i would have liked to attend lichson. i hear the program is easier. any how good luck with ur program and i wish u the best.

by the way, how did u do on ur TEAS test and if u had any college classes? If u don't mind ofcourse. Just wondering.

this is what i posted on another discussion:

Well i will say that i am the odd man out on this one. I scored a 70% on the Teas exam. My gpa is 2.89 and my grades for the night program are as follows eng A-, A&p 1 and 2 B, psy A-, microbio A, and devel psy C+. I called LICH 2 weeks ago and my app was sent for review. I received a call on 5/19 for an interview on 5/20. The interview was ok, but i got flustered on the essay that they ask you to write that i knew about in advance from reading the blogs on here. In the end whatever i did worked cause i got my call today to say that i have been accepted for the fall of 2010. You don't have to be an A student to get into LICHSON. You have to be of a certain quality. You have to want to be a great nurse, know that you can and go for it. Don't get me wrong good grades count, but obviously they look at more than that. I didn't have any volunteer experience, but i worked for a GI doctor for 9 years up until 3/2010. There are so many variables that can make someone a good candidate for LICHSON. So to all who read this keep trying.

Also good luck at Touro. Your foot is in the door and that is all that matters.

did u get a clue if the spots a completly filled. u think they r still interviewing?

I don't know for sure. I think they may be done because the committee met today and last friday. I think the professor who called me was calling all those who got accepted after the committee review.

honestly you should try no matter what...

here's an ex..

i applied to numerous schools, never got an interview for lichson, and still haven't gotten a rejection letter either (only scored 73% on the teas).. got into pbisn (and am going there starting this fall) w/ nln in 92%, sd96%, gpa 3.2, volunteering ~ 250 hrs.

also got into molloy and touro, but was rejected by nyu, and msv, still waiting on nyit even though it wont make a difference for me now.

I guess some college goes a long way. I did ok on my TEAS but I guess having some college couses would have helped. I am in touro but it's not my first choice. I guess I'll see in a couple of weks what lich says. Maybe they won't even send me a rejection letter. I am still happy that I am in one of them. As long as I get my RN in a couple of years. Congrats to you for getting in where you wanted.

I agree with EachTeach...her words are so true... come to this school if you think you won't get in into CUNY's or your gpa is horrible, or you are missing pre-req for a BSN (my case)...sometimes I wish I took one more year to apply to BSN programs... the school doesn't have room numbers...cause there is only one room...ha!

i'm applying for fall 2010 too and i just had my interview yesterday and it went pretty well. i scored a 78% on the TEAS and my gpa is 2.80 and i was afraid they werent going to call and they did so dont give up i think theyll call.

So, i got the call last week. yesterday was my interview. i had been accepted to Touro and had started attending classes as of this monday. the interview went well and i told them that give me a answer today cuz i have to register for Touro. they called me by the end of the day the said, CONGRATS. i am in. so now i am happy that i am in where i wanted to be but the campus is much better at touro. they have nice computer labs and everything is consolidated in one building (with many classrooms) LOL. i worry that i am making a mistake. i know lich is better cuz their credits could be transfered to CUNY. so i can do my BSN in any CUNY college and won't have to take out more loans.

so as i am happy that i am in lich but also wonder if having a better facility would benefit me during the course of my studies.

any thoughts guys?

CONGRATS HUN, I am very happy for you. I have been having some reservations about LICH as well. I got accepted into the night program, but the horror stories about the school itself has me wondering. Well unlike you i only applied to LICH and Beth Israel. I had just started the application process so i took the first thing smoking. I have heard that the facilities are outdated and that's the reason why i just ordered me a laptop. When i dropped of my deposit last ttuesday they were still doing interviews. All we can do inspite of what we are given is do out best in the program come fall. Again congrats and have a great summer.

why they placed u in the night program? do u have some of ur pre-reqs done already? Is that why?

No, you can only apply to the day or night program. I picked the night because at the time i was working(currently unemployed) and i had all the pre reqs for the night program.
