ANY JOB UPSTATE NY?

I'm a new BSN RN and I have been trying real hard to get a job both upstate and in the city. I currently live in Ulster county but im willing to relocate for a full time poition. Does anyone know of a medical facility that is willing to hire a new RN? I am not too picky with salary, i just need to get the 1 year experience out of the way.

How is everything in Bassett? Do they hire ADN? it is really frustrating, no jobs but bills keep coming.

Oh yeah they hire ADN, and pay for you to get BSN.

Hey how do you like living and working there? I live in NYC and am a new grad. I have an interview with them in 2 weeks. Any advice?

They start you at $22.50 for RN1 new grad RN. But thats generally the pay upstate

Specializes in Adult Health.

I live in Syracuse. Upstate medical hires new grads. It's a good place to be. Winters can be a little rough because of lake effect snow but in general roads are kept clear and things rarely shut down. There's also 3 other hospitals not affiliated with upstate medical in the area. Look for upstate.edu on the web and follow the job links.

Also try Arnot Ogden in Elmira NY. Just moved from there and they are hiring too. Not as great an area as Syracuse, but a good place to get experience.

Rents in either place run 500 - 1000, with some of the higher rents including all utilities..

Hi SherluckyRN. Is there a salary difference between ADN and BSN? Are there housing for rent that is within walking distance from Bassett? I am looking to work there but I cannot drive.

Odd. I was told $22 for RN1 new grad.

Edit: @mangodream: I was told there is no salary difference between ADN and BSN i.e. no education differential.

Housing for rent within walking distance is available. Just look for a place in the village of Cooperstown.
