Any insight on Lenox Hill Hospital?

Hello fellow nurses,

I am a Med/Surg nurse at a Long Island Hospital within the NSLIJ system. I have an opportunity to transfer to Lenox Hill. The commute will be much easier (short subway ride from western Queens instead of a traffic-ridden drive). I am also interested in the union benefits. Anyone work/ed at LHH and/or have any insight? How is the environment? Administration? Union? Job security? I remember a few years ago some units closed.

Any help appreciated. Thank you so much!!!

Are you transferring there for the ed fellowship?

Nope! Just an internal transfer..no special fellowship. Did you apply? Best of luck to you!

How did you go about doing an internal transfer? I spoke to HR and they said its the same process, as I would still need to apply online.

Yeah I just applied online and researched who the nurse manager is. I emailed her my resume and conveyed my interest and she was very receptive and also interested in me.

Umm not sure what kind of answers you're really looking for. NYPNU is the union and as far as job security its a union job even when a unit closes down they usually find a position for everyone on that unit elsewhere.

Send me a PM. I'm a Tele/Step-Down/MS float so I can help with some questions if you haven't made your decision yet.
