Adelphi accelerated BSN tuition and options to work

U.S.A. New York

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and hope someone will be able to help with my questions.

1. I got accepted to Adelphi University accelerated nursing program recently and I really like this place and wish to study there but tuition simse to me SO high! It is 505$ per credit, so having 70 credits it will cost me around 40K.

Does anybody have experience with this particular college and know how people usualy cope with tuition cost.

2. I heard that many nursing students work. Could you advice me what kind of job is possible, what is the pay in LI region, is it possible to get tuition reimbursemnt through the hospital and if yes what hospitals you could recommend?

Any advice will be apriciated.

Thanks.

So how rough was the 15 month program at Adelphi? I don't care about the work load, the only thing I care about is being able to work my three days a week in the evening. I know its doable because there are some nurses that I know that had a family and worked full time in the accelerated bsn. But everyone is different. SO my dear, how was it?

Eh..

Not bad. I didn't have to work through nursing school. So for me, it was easy. Some of my best friends through school worked and they all graduated with high marks. It's didn't find it to be super difficult. But ya know, i wasn't working and also, they re-vamped the entire program. Some professors are more difficult than others, some are not.

I wouldn't go by what I'm saying since they have changed things. you can work, it is do-able. If it was a 12 month accelerated, I would say not, but it's 15 months.

me again bean!!!! Did you have your associates degree when you got accepted into the accelerated BSN?!?!? They told me that If I wanted to integrate statistics into the accelerated BSN program I had to have my associates degree. I asked them what if i get it done without my associates degree, can i still transfer in. Now I am waiting on a response. Did you have yours?
