Hello, I'm starting the PMHNP online program at D'Youville University in Spring 2025, and I reside in Westchester, NY. I was wondering if anyone has been or is currently in the nursing program. I would love to connect and share some experiences throughout the program!

Hello everyone! I applied for Monroe College's Accelerated program for the Winter 2023 cohort. I was wondering if anyone heard back or if you're a current students could describe your experiences in the program. I received an 85 on the TEAS scores, accumulatively 3.8 GPA and 3.3 on the prerequisites. Thank you and best of luck to you all!

The general advice for nursing school in the United States is to go for whichever is cheapest, which makes sense in most cases, but from what I've heard Long Island is a very competitive region for nursing, especially the closer you get to the city. So I would like to go for a school that is known and looks especially good to employers. For nursing schools specifically, what would you say the top picks are?

Googling, I see names like Stony Brook, Molloy, and Adelphi. Molloy and Adelphi I can do, but not Stony Brook, as the application deadline has passed. Is Hofstra a good pick too? For me, Suffolk would be the cheapest and most convenient, I'd just need to transfer for my BSN, but I don't really know if it'd look as good on a resume as the other schools.

	Hi everyone! ?

I'm planning to attend the NCC Nursing Evening Program and am currently navigating the admissions process. I attended one of the information sessions a while ago and will be attending another one soon, but I had a few questions for students who have gone through or are currently in the program. I already have a bachelor's degree from SUNY Empire, so I have quite a few transfer credits. I reached out to admissions to ask if they could review my transcripts and let me know which courses would transfer, but I was told that this is done on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed. I was wondering if anyone here had a similar experience with transferring credits from a previous degree. For example, I completed Anatomy & Physiology, but my course was listed as BIO 171 instead of AHS 131, and several of my other courses have similar differences in course numbers. I'm curious how flexible NCC was with accepting those types of credits. If my credits do transfer, I'm planning to complete the remaining science prerequisites ahead of time so that, if admitted, I would be left with only the nursing core classes during the program to help ease the course load. Has anyone taken a similar approach, and if so, how did it work out for you?

I also wanted to confirm something about the Evening Program schedule. Are labs and clinicals truly held in the evening as well? I'm unable to attend anything before 5:00 PM. The flyer I saw included a sample schedule showing evening lectures, labs, and clinicals, but I just wanted to confirm that this is the case.

Thank you so much in advance !! I really appreciate any insight you can share!

	Hi everyone,

I'm currently taking prerequisite courses at a local community college for an ABSN program. I'm already certified as a CNA, but I haven't worked yet. I'm considering enrolling in a Patient Care Technician (PCT) program to increase my chances of getting a hospital job.

The program I'm looking at costs about $4,000 and takes around six months to complete. My goal is to start working in the medical field before nursing school and hopefully continue per diem while in the ABSN program.

Some people have told me to just start applying for CNA positions right away, but I feel that it's harder to get into a hospital without prior experience. On the other hand, students who complete this PCT program often find hospital jobs here in NYC.

I'd love to hear from anyone in NYC—do you think it's worth investing the time and money into the PCT program?

Hi, currently in a Practical Nursing program and due to graduate in about 2 months. Helene Fuld seems like the most direct LPN-RN program in NYC. From what I've heard it can be hell on earth, or it's amazing. Was just wondering if I can hear from any recent students or those whose opinion of the school may still be relevant today.

Hi everyone, I hope this post reaches the right people I recently applied for the fall 2025 BSN program at Helene fuld and I was hoping I can get more insight on how this whole process typically goes!

This has been my process so far :

I submitted my application, took the HESI and sent over all of my documents. I was then told I needed to come in person to drop off documents. (ie. social security, hs diploma/ bachelors degree, and my passport)

I submitted these documents in person today and was told my application is " under further review" and I would hear back from them soon. Does anyone know who long this process usually takes ?

Also any insight of the school would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I recently passed the NCLEX and received contract offers from ADEX and PassportUSA. While PassportUSA offers better benefits (IELTS/NCLEX fee reimbursement, family relocation, and a larger bonus for a 6,200+ hour contract), I found negative reviews from 2017–2019 but none recently.

ADEX has a smaller bonus and a 5,200+ hour contract but no negative reviews. However, they delay family relocation by a month, which is a concern.

I'd appreciate insights from anyone with experience with these agencies or similar case.

Hello everyone, hope all is well , I created this space out of curiosity over Helene Fuld College on Nursing . I had applied for Fall '21 for their BSN program and I'm awaiting their reply , I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the school and if it's possible to inform on a few things like :

generally , how is the school / their program / professors ? How are online classes ?

Is it true that they have a 100% acceptance rate as long as u meet all requirements ?

How long do u usually have to wait for a decision letter from them ? (I applied Mar 9 '21)

Do they really transfer Science credits that have C+ and up ? meaning , u would be a few steps ahead regarding pre-reqs because of the transfer ? (I have an A.A.S degree)

I'll probably add more to it later depending on how much information I can get from other places ... please feel free to add on to this conversation ! Thank u so much

I am licensed in NY and it is about to expire at the end of February. Due to chronic illness, I have not used it for almost 3 years. I have also since moved to TN. I would like to renew it, just in case I were to magically get better or find a job that would be ideal for my situation. Can I renew my NY license with my new out-of-state address but still in NY? Or do I need to get it endorsed first to TN and then renew? I have a feeling it is going to expire in the time period that TN endorses before I can get it renewed in TN, so I am trying to think outside the box and renew it in NY now and let TN endorsement take however long it takes since I am not working.
