New RN grad seeking advise for Perioperative Specialty interview

Published

Hi Allnurses,

I am a recent graduate from a BSN program in Western Canada. For nearly one year prior to graduating, I fell in love with the idea of working as a peri-operative nurse and have been trying my best to gain acceptance into a peri-operative specialty training course. Very recently, I received an email from one of the local health authorities that they want to meet me for a 1.5 hour panel interview to be followed by a "dexterity" test to see if they will bring me into their specialty program. If there's anyone who has gone through this type of interview process and dexterity test (particularly in the Vancouver area), any advise or perspective as to how I should prepare (questions I should prep for, books I should read, videos I should watch, free on-line modules I should take) would be greatly appreciated. As my name says, I'm nervous, but so excited to start my career.

Thanks in advance for the advice

Hi!

I graduated this year, and I might be in the same position that you were in. I was wondering how the interview went and if you have any advice on how to prepare?

Thanks in advance!
