New to Nursing, and transferring schools

Published

Hello, I had plans on applying for the nursing programs to the schools I've applied to over the Fall and I'm sure I will be admitted into the schools. The problem is, I missed out on the earliest dates to take the TEAS before the March 1st deadline for scores and I'm pretty sure my opportunities are blown and I would have to wait another year. I have all my pre-reqs completed. My questions are: would I still be admitted into the schools if I do not attend or enroll in courses (would I have to reapply next time)? Also, what should I do now? This is my first time with this process without help, but I will definitely seek an advisor the next time.. Thank you in advance for the responses.

You applied in Fall in order to start school in January or you applied in order to start last Fall?

If the deadline is March 1st, how are your opportunities blown?

If you are done with pre-reqs., then you will have to wait until the next cycle to apply (March?). You don't need to keep taking classes until you are accepted.

Sorry if the formatting comes out weird, new to the forums. But I applied for Fall 2018.

I considered my opportunities blown because I was too late to schedule for the TEAS at some of the locations that the test was offered at, (Sac State, etc). All the dates (for testing) before the March 1st turn in deadline (for scores) are sold out, according to the ATI website. Again, I'm new to this whole process.

Speak with your school's guidance counselor. They can best answer your questions. But, no, you would not have to continue taking classes if all your pre-reqs are done.

TEAS is a national test. You can take it anywhere in the country.

They also offer the TEAS at PSI testing centers. I just looked and the one in Sacramento has testing slots available in January.
