New to Nursing

Published

Iam hoping to get into the RN program at a local college in Jan. 07. I already have my bachelors degree in aviation. In between now and Jan, I will need to get a few pre reqs. out of the way...anatomy and physiology. This RN program offers a AS in nursing.

My questions are:

1. Should I do this program, or go to a University and do the BS in nursing...which I know would req. more pre reqs.

2. Should I become a CNA...while Iam waiting to get in the RN program..there is a 2 week course starting next week that I can attend for $250 plus the price of the test. Iam currently a pilot in tampa and want to get out of this dissapointing and very unstable industry. People I have talked to, none of them are in the medical field, say why would you want to go from being a pilot to a CNA where all you do is wash people and clean up their messes. I know that being a CNA would only be temporary, so should I even go that route? Would it benefit me at all? Im so confused...HELP!!

Thanks in advance :)
