Hello everyone, I am currently living in Florida and will be starting my first semester as a 43 year old male RN student in January. Due to family situations it appears that I will be moving to the Gulf Coast area of Mississippi sometime during the summer of 2015. I honestly have too many questions to ask. I have taken all my pre and co-regs for my current school except our co-req of Micro Biology & Lab. I have taken A&P 1&2, Eng 1&2, Life Span Development, Psychology, Ethics, Human Nutrition, Humanities, and Micro Apps, along with math classes and a few other electives like Medical Math.

I have heard of MGCCC, William Carey University, and University of Southern Mississippi for RN schools. Are there any other schools that I might not be aware of between Goshen, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and Gulf Port? I would like to eventually get at least my BSN and possibly further.

Second what are their enrollment rates for these schools or others if anyone knows? My current school had 180 applicants for 72 spots. My overall GPA is 3.9; however, my Pre-req GPA was 4.0 and my TEAS was a 69.8.

Another factor that I might have to consider is out of state tuition since I will be moving there over the summer next year. I am not sure how it works in Mississippi but here in Florida you need residency 1 full year before you get the in state rates.

Any advice will be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

University of Southern Miss requires the Kaplan(different from the teas) and an act of 21. Your gpa looks awesome though! Good luck!
